The Hope Center is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to serving Edwards County, Illinois, and surrounding areas by providing essential resources such as food, clothing, diapers, pregnancy support, veteran assistance, and more. Through compassionate outreach, prayer, and community-driven programs, we strive to bring hope, healing, and lasting change to those in need.

Our goal is to offer practical assistance and spiritual support to individuals and families facing hardships. By providing essential items, facilitating community programs, and fostering connections with local leaders, we aim to create a network of care that empowers people, strengthens families, and builds a more compassionate and resilient community.

What is the purpose of The Hope Center?

We exist to serve and support the community by meeting practical needs, offering resources, and fostering positive change. Our goal is to help people in tangible ways, whether through food assistance, mentorship programs, financial education, or other services. (VA, Toys for Tots, Jobs, Housing, Home Visits)

How are you different from a church?

Our values may align with faith-based organizations, but The Hope Center is not a church. Our focus is on community service and support for anyone in need whether they attend church or not. We use the Bible as our primary direction to assist people. We try to be available as much as possible and meet people where they are.

Where does your funding come from?

We rely on donations from individuals, churches, businesses, and fundraising events. No grants or Government assistance)

Who can receive help from this outreach?

Anyone in need is welcome. We do not discriminate based on background, beliefs, or circumstances. Our goal is to offer help without judgment. In 2009 The Hope Center decided to limit the amount of times people can come for assistance to 20 times. We want to be a helping hand not an enabler. We do make exceptions for emergencies.

How do you determine who qualifies for assistance?

Each program has its own guidelines, but we strive to serve as many people as possible. We may require minimal information for certain services but do our best to remove barriers to help.
